Lava eTab Xtron+ Launches With Android 4.2 For Rs 6,990

Jelly Bean-based tablet is powered by a dual-core CPU and sports a 7" IPS screen, dual cameras, and powerful battery.

Lava has launched the eTab Xtron+, which the company claims to be India's first tablet with the latest Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). The device is powered by a dual-core CPU and quad-core GPU and well-complemented with 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage is also not bad at 8 GB with option for up to 32 GB microSD card. Its 7" screen is IPS with pixel dimensions of 1024x600. Imaging is taken care of by 2 MP rear and 0.3 MP front cameras. While it doesn't have a SIM slot, the connectivity is taken care of by Wi-Fi, although it does lack Bluetooth. Here are the product specifications:

  • Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), Google Play Store.
  • 7" capacitive multitouch IPS screen with pixel dimensions of 1024x600.
  • 1.5 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU, Mali-400 quad-core GPU.
  • 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, Up to 32 GB microSD support.
  • 2 megapixel rear camera, 0.3 megapixel front camera.
  • Wi-Fi with hotspot, micro-USB, HDMI-Out v1.4, 3.5 mm audio jack, No Bluetooth.
  • Gravity sensor.
  • 3700 mAh battery with power optimising app.
  • 5.16" (W) x 7.26" (H) x 0.47" (11.9 mm) (D), 363 grams.

There is an HDMI port to take the action to a bigger screen. 3G internet dongles are supported, thanks to USB OTG. At 11.9 mm, this is quite thin and the aluminium body should help it withstand rough usage in addition to making it look good. This is the successor to the Lava eTab Xtron we had reviewed earlier, with the upgraded features being a newer Android version, and HDMI port. The Lava eTab Xtron+ is available online for Rs 6,990, which is just Rs 500 more than its predecessor, making it a good buy.
