Samsung Unveils GALAXY S4 Mini With 4.3" Screen

Comes with a 1.7 GHz Dual-core CPU, 8 megapixel camera, and Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).

As mentioned in our review, the Samsung GALAXY S4 isn't ideal for single handed usage. So to attract those who prefer compact handsets, the Korean giant has announced the GALAXY S4 mini. This phone sports a 4.3" Super AMOLED screen with pixel dimensions of 540x960. If you were hoping for the same powerful hardware as that of S4, you are in for a disappointment. The S4 Mini packs in a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor, and 1.5 GB to 2 GB of RAM (varies by region). For photography, there's an 8 megapixel camera. Other features include Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, IR Blaster, NFC (in select markets) and a 1,900 mAh battery. On the software front, the S4 Mini offers the latest Android 4.2.2 out of the box. Thanks to the TouchWiz customisation, you get many of the S4's interesting software tricks such as WatchON, Sound & Shot, and Group Play.

The GALAXY S4 mini will come in two colours, White Frost and Black Mist. According to Samsung, 3G dual-SIM variants will be made available in some countries. As of this writing, the company hasn't shed any light on the device's pricing and availability. It's India launch date is also not known yet. These details will probably surface at the company's London event scheduled on 20th of June 2013.
