Xolo X910 Surfaces Online, Priced At Rs 10K

Device runs on an Intel processor, this fills yet another price-point gap in Xolo's line-up.

Update: Xolo X910 has been listed on Flipkart, and is priced at Rs 9,999. However, the device is out of stock on Flipkart, which evokes laughter, as the X910 is yet to make it to Xolo's official website. According to Flipkart, Xolo X910 runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, has 4.3 inch display, and 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor.

Earlier on 13 May: Rumour says Xolo, after launching the Xolo Q700 quad-core smartphone, and pricing the device at Rs 10,000, Xolo may return to smartphones running on an Intel processor. An Android Nova report says that the new Xolo X910 would likely be priced somewhere in the Rs 10,000-Rs 11,000 range. This launch would expand Xolo's portfolio of Intel x86-based Android smartphones - Xolo had earlier released X900 (Rs 15k), X1000 (Rs 20k) and Xolo X500 (Rs 9k).

Notably, the new phone would stick with an 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor, perhaps making it just as fast as the Xolo X900. Other tech-specs expected in the Xolo X910 are:

  • 4.3 inch display
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system
  • Intel Atom Z2460 processor
  • 5 MP rear camera
  • 1GB RAM
  • 2000 mAh battery

Other aspects like the exact amount of internal storage, and connectivity options are not yet known; but the usual 3G and Bluetooth 3.0 can be expected.

Compared to the older X900, the new X910 seems to offer a slightly larger screen - but the camera is lower-resolution than 8MP, and high-end additions like HDMI port are likely to be absent. So while it would be cheaper than the Xolo X900, its screen resolution and hardware such as RAM/battery would still be better specced than the budget-priced Xolo X500. Yes folks, a range of Intel-based Androids are unfolding in front of our eyes at different price points. And unfortunately like the old Nokia, model numbers don't necessarily reflect positioning at each step, so you'd be forgiven for scratching your head.
