Zen Ultraphone 701 HD With Android 4.2 And Quad-Core CPU Launched For Rs 12,000

Handset with Jelly Bean sports 8 MP and 3.2 MP cameras, 5" HD screen and 3G.

Zen Mobile has launched its own quad-core handset – Ultrafone 701 HD. This smartphone runs the latest Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a quad-core CPU. The 5" screen has pixel dimensions of 1280x720, which can natively display 720p movies. The GSM handset supports dual-SIM, of which one supports 3G, while the other can operate in 2G mode. Photography is taken care of by an 8 MP rear snapper with BSI and LED flash, while a 3.2 MP front camera is provided to take care of video calling. Apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter come pre-installed. Here are the specifications:

  • Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), Google Play Store.
  • Dual-SIM (3G + 2G).
  • 5" capacitive touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 1280x720.
  • Quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek MT6589 CPU.
  • 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB internal storage, Up to 32 GB microSD support.
  • 8 megapixel rear camera with BSI, LED flash, 3.2 megapixel front camera.
  • 2000 mAh battery.

The handset appears to be decent, given its specifications, notably the quad-core CPU aptly complemented by 1 GB of RAM. This should allow it to run most of the heavy apps and games without breaking much of a sweat. Priced at an MRP of Rs 12,000, this handset offers a good quad-core option for those who are on a budget. Its competitor is the Micromax A116 Canvas HD with the same specs, but costing Rs 2000 more.
