Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR With 42x Optical Zoom Launched For Rs 33,000

Bridge camera comes with a 16 MP CMOS sensor, flip LCD, and various artistic filters.

Fujifilm has launched a new bridge camera – FinePix HS50EXR, to bridge the gap between D-SLRs and point-and-shoot cameras. The new camera comes with a 16 MP EXR CMOS II sensor and is capable of capturing JPEG as well as RAW images. A 3" large Vari-Angle LCD flips out and can be angled to suit the photographer's convenient. One of the USPs of this camera is its very long focal length that allows a powerful 42x optical zoom with optical image stabilisation to reduce the effects of jitters while shooting. While it can shoot far off objects, the camera also boasts of super macro shooting capabilities with subjects as close as 1 cm.

The HS50EXR comes with 8 artistic filters to choose from. It is also capable of shooting Full HD (1080p) movies at 60 frames per second. Slow motion at 480 fps is also possible. The camera employs Phase Detection pixel technology to achieve fast auto-focus within a claimed 0.05 seconds, and this technology (in addition to scene recognition modes) is also active while shooting movies. The Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR is priced at Rs 33,000, which is actually more than an entry-level D-SLR.
