SICT Launches Dual-SIM Touchscreen Phone

Also features a 1.3 MP camera and Bluetooth, all for Rs 2400.

SICT Mobiles, a Chinese manufacturer of low-end mobile phones, has launched a new handset dubbed the SILK. The dual-SIM, dual-band phone is priced at Rs 2400. It features a 2.8" touchscreen and 1.3 megapixel camera, which seems like great value for the price. The company describes its touchscreen as a "real touch pad", but that's just "resistive touchscreen" in Engrish.

The SILK includes the cheap phone staple and crowd favourite - an inbuilt flashlight - as well as Bluetooth A2DP compatibility for the price. It supports video formats such as 20 fps AVI, 3GP, and MP4 as well as audio formats such as MP3, WAV, MIDI, and AMR. Hooking up your existing earphones is easy thanks to its 3.5 mm jack.

Call Connect Notice is easily the best feature of the phone. The handset momentarily vibrates as soon as your call is connected. This might be the only thing that can save me from the misery of enduring my colleague ck's infernal caller tune. This nifty feature also claims to shield the user from microwave radiation, which is at its highest when the call is being connected. Finally, if anyone steals your phone, SICT has thrown in a mobile tracker for that - a far-fetched eventuality considering its price.
