Karbonn A6 With 4" Screen Pegged At Rs 5400

The budget ICS smartphone packs in 1 GHz CPU, 5 megapixel camera, and dual-SIM functionality.

Karbonn has added yet another entry-level phone to its portfolio of Android devices. Dubbed as the A6, this phone is one of the few that offers a 4" IPS screen at an affordable price. From the pictures though, the handset's design seem to be inspired by the HTC 8S. This dual-SIM smartphone is backed by a 1 GHz processor and has 512 MB of RAM. Apart from that, you get a 5 megapixel main camera coupled with flash. The internal storage is a paltry 100 MB, but the phone packs in a microSD card slot. Here's the list of detailed specs:

  • 4" IPS screen with 480x800 pixels.
  • 1 GHz CPU, 512 MB of RAM.
  • 5 megapixel rear camera, Front-facing camera (not specified).
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, Lacks 3G.
  • 3.5 mm jack, Micro-USB port.
  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
  • 5" (l) x 2.6" (w) x 0.5" (11.6 mm) (d); Weighs 114.5 grams (without Battery).
  • 1450 mAh battery with claimed talk time of 3.5 hours and 11 days standby time.
  • Package Contents: Handset, Battery, Charger, Headset, User Manual, Warranty Card.

Available for Rs 5400, the phone seem to offer great value for money and an IPS screen further sweetens the deal. If you are looking for 3G connectivity though, you're better off with the Lava Iris N400 for a premium for 700 bucks.

Even while it goes after the lower-end of the market, the brand is making a strong play in the performance segment as well, with affordable quad-core smartphones priced under Rs 12,000 in the form of the Karbonn S5 Titanium and the Karbonn S1 Titanium.
