LG Announces Optimus F7 And F5 Ahead Of MWC 2013

Budget handsets will feature Android Jelly Bean and 4G LTE.

 

Probably due to yesterday's leak, LG has decided to unveil its two Optimus series phones ahead of the MWC. The new entrants called F7 and F5 will compete in the mid-range segment while the Optimus G Pro battles it out for the top spot. According to the manufacturer, these handsets will allow them to offers great user experience and 4G LTE to mass market.

Of the two, the F7 sports a 4.7" IPS screen with pixel dimensions of 720x1280. It draws power from a 1.5 GHz dual core CPU, and has 2 GB of RAM. For photography, you get an 8 megapixel camera. All this backed by a 2540 mAh battery.

The F5, on the other hand is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. At 4.3", its display is 0.4" smaller than that of the F7. The phone's other specs include a 5 megapixel camera, 8 GB of internal storage, 1 GB of RAM, and 2150 mAh battery.

On the software front, both the handsets feature Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 out of the box. The worldwide rollout of the Optimus F5 will begin in the second quarter in Europe, followed soon by the Optimus F7 in selected markets. For pricing details though, you'll have to wait till the MWC 2013.
