Karbonn A12 Android Smartphone Launches At Rs 7,990

Becomes available online with a 5MP camera and is based on ICS (Android 4.0)

 

Karbonn's new smartphone, A12 is now available at online retailers for a price of Rs 7990. This smartphone offers a 4.5" display and runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice-Cream Sandwich) operating system. Considering the price tag, the Karbonn A12 is a budget smartphone in the sub-10k range.

The tech specs of the Karbonn A12, are:

  • Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system
  • 1 GHz processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 4GB internal memory
  • micro-SD card slot to expand up to 32GB
  • 5 MP primary camera with LED Flash

  • upto 4 hours talktime claimed, 180 hours standby time

Flipkart and Saholic have listed the Karbonn A12 on their respective sites. Flipkart claims to deliver the A12 in 9-10 business days whereas Saholic claims to deliver the device in 4 business days. When we take the tech specs of the A12 into consideration, the Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2 comes to mind, although the A110 offers slightly better specs at a price tag of Rs 9990.

Other notable competitors from the sub 10K Android smartphones category, are the Samsung Galaxy Chat and the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos.
