New Micromax Tablet Funbook P600 Available For Rs 9500

Snapdeal is offering the 3G Funbook P600 and even claims that the P600 is an exclusive launch.

A new 3G tablet from Micromax, called Funbook P600 has been listed on Snapdeal.com for a price of Rs 9500. Interestingly, the Micromax Funbook P600 has not yet been listed on the official Micromax website as of now, which is a bit strange. Snapdeal has also labelled the tablet as “Exclusive Launch”. The online retailer says orders will be dispatched in five days, and also gives the technical specifications as follows:

  • 7-inch multi-touch capacitive display
  • Android 4.0.4 Ice-Cream Sandwich operating system
  • 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor
  • 2 MP front and rear cameras
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 2 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB with microSD card
  • Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity along with USB; no Bluetooth connectivity
  • 4 hours browsing time (claimed) along with 224 hours standby time

We tried contacting the PR executives at Micromax, but they couldn't be reached.  The company, which recently launched A116 Canvas HD phablet, reported a rush in the pre-booking of the device on the first day when it opened on 14th February. And now, the Snapdeal page through which one had to buy the phablet is reporting a server error.

In the crowded sub 10k Android tablet market, Micromax is outdone spec-wise. The Acer iconia B1-A71 that is priced at approximately Rs 8200, runs Android 4.1 out of the box and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM, with 8 GB internal storage (versus Android 4.0, 1 Ghz CPU, and 2 GB internal storage on the Micromax).
