Affordable cellphones have been giving PMPs a run for their money. For PMP manufacturers, then, aggressive pricing of entry-level players is an effective strategy: Zebronics has launched its Zebmate Cinema 1.8 for Rs 1600. It is targeted at folks stuck with dumb phones, as it were. As the name suggests, this PMP features a 1.8" touchscreen with pixel dimensions of 128x160. While the official page doesn't specify the nature of the touchscreen, it's likely to be a resistive panel. Here's the list of features:

  • 1.8" touchscreen (128x160 pixels).
  • 8 GB of internal storage, 16 GB microSD card slot.
  • 3.5 mm jack, Mini-USB port.
  • FM radio, Audio recorder.
  • Supported Formats: AMV, MP3, WMA, WAV, JPG, GIF, TXT.
  • 12 hours of music playback.

The Cinema 1.8 is available in Smoked Black, and can be bought for Rs 1600 from electronics shops across India.
