ICC CRICTOS’ – Cricket’s Official NFTs Set To Launch Today

The first drop of exclusive ICC Crictos gets unveiled at 5:30 pm IST Features 75 greatest moments from 2015 & 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup

FanCraze, through its exclusive partnership with the International Cricket Council, is set to roll out ICC Crictos, cricket’s most sought after NFTs (non-fungible tokens) today. Crictos are the first-of-its kind, official, and authentic digital collectibles which present fans a unique opportunity to contribute to and participate in the cricket metaverse.

To fans’ delight, barely hours from now at 5:30 pm IST (12 pm UTC), global cricket’s most awaited NFT pack drop on Flow blockchain will be unveiled by FanCraze featuring legendary and unforgettable moments from the 2015 and 2019 editions of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

FanCraze has additionally partnered with leading cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Andre Russell, Shikhar Dhawan, Jonty Rhodes, Muthiah Muralidaran, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal, amongst several other leading athletes.

Anshum Bhambri, CEO of FanCraze, remarked “These are the most exciting times for cricket fans! Undoubtedly, fans have catalysed the growth of cricket over the years through their love, emotions, and aspirations. What we are aiming to do through our partnership with the ICC is to empower these very fans to get closer to the game they love than ever before, by collecting, showcasing and trading their very own slices of cricket history.”

There are several reasons why this is a landmark event for the blockchain ecosystem in India. For starters, cricket has one of the largest fan followings in the region. Both the television and internet-based streaming services took off on the heels of live cricket allowing category leaders to give cricket fans innovative and compelling ways to tune into all the action. FanCraze has a similar mission – working with the ICC, it is providing fans and users the capacity to collect, showcase and trade some of the pinnacle moments from the wide world of cricket.  From the ICC U-19 World Cup to the ICC Twenty20 and One Day World Cups and ICC World Test Championships, FanCraze will be the home of the most exciting and sought-after digital collectibles for one of the world’s largest sports.

FanCraze has built a mainstream-friendly wallet where users can buy NFTs using fiat currency without worrying about gas costs or transaction fees by leveraging the power and accessibility of Flow. FanCraze NFTs will be made available through packs, wherein a pack contains a fixed number of NFTs that will be detailed on the FanCraze website. For the first drop of Crictos, the FanCraze packs are priced at $9, $49, and $249 (i.e., ranging between Rs. 700 and Rs. 18,500) and are differentiated by the number and rarity of the Crictos inside them. There are four rarity tiers of NFTs within the packs ranging from the widely available Common Tier to the ultra-scarce Legendary Tier.

Starting Sunday, 30 January 2022, FanCraze will make the trading marketplace live on its website. The benefits of owning FanCraze NFTs are immense for the fans: ownership will allow them to build an NFT collection across a particular match or series; trade the NFTs with fans across the globe; win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interact with their favourite cricketers or use the NFTs across upcoming apps and play-to-earn games to earn financial rewards in the FanCraze Metaverse.

According to DappRadar, total NFT trading volume in Q3 2021 was approximately $10.7B (up 700% from previous quarter) with an average of 1.5M unique active wallets daily (up 25% from previous quarter). The explosive growth of NFTs continues aided by the popularity of games like Axie Infinity, collections like Cryptopunks and an increasingly more number of artists and brands jumping on the bandwagon. The market cap for Top 100 NFT collections on Ethereum + NBA Top Shot is estimated at $14.2 billion, supporting the value flow into the NFT segment (link).

FanCraze had earlier announced a $17.4m seed round of funding led by Tiger Global and with participation from Coatue, Sequoia India, and Dapper Labs, amongst others.
