Rajinikanth to launch India’s first Social Voice App – Hoote

Rajinikanth has launched India’s very first audio social media app with his daughter.

Superstar Rajinikanth will launch Hoote today, a voice-based social media app his daughter Soundarya Vishagan has co-founded with Amtex CEO Sunny Pokala.

Rajinikanth will also receive the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award on Monday and his latest action movie "Annaatthe" is all set for a Diwali release. Rajinikanth has more than 45 years of experience in the Tamil film industry. The Dadasaheb Phalke is awarded for excellence in cinematic achievement. It is the highest film honour in the country and is awarded by the government of India.

Hoote provides a 60-second voice recording option. The 70-year-old megastar has said, “I am very happy to launch this innovative, useful and the first of its kind the Hoote App in my voice. People can now express through their voice their thoughts, wishes and ideas just like they do in writing in any language of their choice.”

The world is connected by social media and there are showing no signs of decelerating growth. But the future may look different according to Soundarya Rajinikanth Vishagan who said, "Voice is the future of social media, I do strongly believe."

Explaining the difference between existing voice-based platforms like Clubhouse and Spaces, Soundarya added, "People can express their thoughts and feeling in any language at any time from anywhere. The attention span of people is really coming down and this will be a quick way that they can share whatever they want on the platform."

Hoote also has a team of successful tech entrepreneurs as advisors, like Girish Mathrubootham, founder of Freshworks and Arvind Parthasarathi.

Hoote is self-funded but Soundarya says, “We will raise equity funding at the appropriate time.”
