Huawei To Soon launch A Mid-Range P20 Lite In India

The handset features a dual-camera setup and 5.8-inch Full HD screen.

The Huawei P20 Lite may accompany its bigger sibling Huawei P20 Pro, which is set to launch on April 24 in India. As its nomenclature suggests, it will be a watered-down P20 Pro for the price conscious buyers. It was launched at 369 EUR (Rs 30,000 approx.) in Europe last month.

The P20 Lite gets a slightly smaller 5.84-inch Full HD+ display compared to its sibling. It is an LCD unit as opposed to the AMOLED of the P20 Pro. It does inherit the notch at the top of the display though, which can be camouflaged via the inbuilt software to make it appear as a bezel. At the rear, it features a Dual 16 MP + 2 MP setup as opposed to the comprehensive triple optics setup of the P20 Pro. It features an all glass back with ‘Twilight’ shade. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear. The handset misses out on IP67 certified body for water and dust resistance as opposed to its premium sibling.

The P20 Lite is powered by an octa core Kirin 659 SoC (System on Chip) which also does duty on multiple handsets from Huawei’s Honor line-up. It bears in 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256 GB via the microSD card slot.

Other key features of the Huawei P20 Lite include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. It runs on Android Oreo 8.0 with a custom EMUI 8.0 skin on top of it. The smartphone draws power from the 3000 mAh battery, which supports fast charging.
