The tablet comes with integration suitable for Digital India schemes and services.

HP has announced a new tablet dubbed as ‘Pro 8’ which is claimed as ‘Made for India’ device that would allow users to monitor subsidy distribution through Aadhaar authentication and also avail a number of benefits pertaining to government services.

The tablet is available in India for price starting at Rs 19,374 and features an 8 inch HD IPS display, while being powered by 64 bit quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor paired with a 2 GB RAM. The device also comes with 16 GB of internal storage and 6,000 mAh battery. It also supports micro SIM slot, micro USB, and 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Other interesting features in this tablet include iris and fingerprint scanner for Aadhaar-based authentication, thermal printer, and magnetic strip reader for financial transaction. It also comes with a bar-code scanner for inventory management.

However, the key highlight seems to be its integration with the Digital India scheme by the Government of India. The tablet comes with a couple of preloaded apps that support various functionalities, which are claimed to be designed by HP’s Digital India Unit with inputs from public and private sector customers.
