Xiaomi May Launch Mi Max 2 In India On July 18

The smartphone was unveiled with two storage options in China — 64 GB and 128 GB in May for CNY 1,699 and CNY 1,999.

 

Xiaomi is sending out invites for a launch event to be held in New Delhi on July 18, and it is expected that we could witness the launch of Mi Max 2 during the event.

Speaking about the device, it was unveiled in China in May with a tagline ‘big is back’ for price starting at CNY 1,699. And, in India, this should reflect somewhere around Rs 16,000.

For this price ,the smartphone boasts a 6.44 inch FHD display and a massive 5,300 mAh battery, while it is powered by an cote-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2 GHz paired with a 4 GB of RAM.

The device was unveiled in China with two variations in the storage space — 64 GB and 128 GB GB. The 128 GB variant was launched at CN 1,999. However, it is still unknown whether we could be getting both the models or only one in India.

On the camera end, the Mi Max 2 comes with a 12 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5 MP front facing camera. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0.

To recall, the phone’s predecessor Mi Max was launched in India last year in two variants — 3 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM / 128 GB ROM for Rs 14,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively.
