Asus ZenFone AR May Launch In India On July 13

The smartphone was unveiled globally at the CES 2017 event, and features Snapdragon 821 SoC customised for Tango.

Taiwan based smartphone company Asus recently launched ZenFone AR smartphone with 8 GB RAM, specifically meant for Google’s Tango augmented reality platform at the CES 2017 event. Now, the smartphone is all set to land on the India soil.

In-fact, last month, Asus teased the Indian launch on its social media channels and now, press invites are being sent out for the launch event to be held on July 13.

Though the company has not yet officially announced that ZenFone AR would be launched on July 13, but we can make a pretty easy wild guess as the teasers included ‘#DareToDream’ hashtag in them. Adding further on this, the company’s press invite includes the slogan “Push the boundaries of your imagination”, which again seems like a confirmation on the ZenFone AR’s Indian launch.

To recall, the Asus ZenFone AR comes with a 5.7 inch QHD Super AMOLED display with Snapdragon 821 processor powering it from under the hood. The SoC is claimed to have been customised specifically for Tango.

The device also features a 23 MP Sony IMX318 sensor with 4-axis optical image stabilisation along with an 8 MP front facing camera with 85 degree wide angle lens. It also comes with up to 256 GB of internal storage and hybrid SIM slot.

The ZenFone AR runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and houses a 3,300 mAh battery, while connectivity options include USB 2.0 Type C port, Bluetooth 4.2, and WiFi.
