Apple Refreshes iPad Models; Available For A Cheaper Price

It looks like the company has ditched the 10.5 inch iPad, well at least for now.

Apple has announced a couple of interesting updates as well as some refreshed models of iPad which was pretty much unexpected by the whole of tech fraternity. Well, in-fact, it was earlier rumoured that the Cupertino-giant would be launching a 10.5 inch iPad, though the company seems to have ditched it somehow.

In short, Apple has discontinued 16 GB and 64 GB iPad Air models, and replaced them with 32 GB and 128 GB models for a lesser price. While the company simply calls the new refreshed line as plain old ‘iPad’, it is said to come in three color options - silver, gold, and space grey.

Along with this, the new 9.7 inch iPad range comes with a better Retina display, and better processor and performance, though the price range has been reduced drastically. Technical specs include A9 chip with 64 bit architecture, 8 MP rear camera, and 1.2 MP FaceTime camera.

The company will be rolling out the new iPad in India starting from April for a price tag of Rs 28,900 for 32 GB with WiFi model and Rs 39,900 for the 32 GB WiFi + Cellular model, according to a post published on The Indian Express. However, on the Apple website, the new iPad is being sold currently for $329 for 32 GB and $429 for 128 GB.

On the other hand, the company has also announced the iPad Mini 4 with 7.9 inch display with 128 GB internal storage for $399, pretty cheap than the earlier price of $499. By taking this step, it is worth noting that Apple has eliminated the 32 GB variant.
