Xiaomi Launches Smart Sportswear Shoes With 60 Days Battery Life

The smart shoes come with a button-sized Intel Curie chip to detect and store all the data.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has recently started launching many products in various segments including healthcare, sports, and smart home. Now, to extend its diverse range of products, the company has launched smart shoes dubbed as the ’90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear’, which is powered by Intel Technology.

The smart sportswear shoes come with Intel's Curie chip and is said to be capable of providing information on the distance travelled and calories burnt. The smart shoes come with 60 days of battery life and is said to have been developed by Shanghai based Runmi Technology, reports GizChina.

The report mentions that, the size of the Curie chip used inside the smart shoes is about the size of a button, thus giving no extra weight to the shoes. The chip is said to be capable of detecting whether you are running, walking, or even climbing.

As we can clearly see, these shoes are targeted at professional athletes, and the sole of the shoes is having an arch design so that the runners get a pretty good balance. This also helps as an anti-skid feature.

The smart sportswear shoes is currently available on the company’s official website for a price tag of 299 Yuan. This roughly translates to around Rs 2,900 if you are interested. However, this seems to be currently available only in China, and we have no further information as to when this would be available in other regions.
