Tata Motors Unveil Its First Sports Car Tamo Racemo

The vehicle is expected to cost around 25 to 30 lakhs.

 

Tata, an Indian multinational conglomerate, known for world's cheapest petrol car Nano has entered the sports car territory. The company, which owns International brands such as Jaguar and Range Rover has unveiled a new brand 'TAMO'. At the Geneva Motor Show held in Geneva, Tata rolled out the two-door sports car TAMO Racemo.



The car boasts of a 1.2L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. It can produce 190PS power @ 6500 RPM with 210 nm of torque at 2500 RPM. The car can go from 0-100 kmph in only under 6 seconds. The Racemo has 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Tata claims that Racemo will be India’s first connected car. Powered by Microsoft, Racemo will be connected to Microsoft's cloud computing, analytics, geo-spatial, mapping, and increased human-machine interface.



According to the company, Racemo fuses Italian sensuality and Indian ingenuity. It is built using patented MOFlex Multi-Material Sandwich (MMS) structure. This enables greater freedom in surface design, efficient large-scale part integration leading to modularity. Only a few hundred Racemo's will be built. The vehicle is expected to be priced around 25 to 30 lakh rupees.
