CES 2017: Xiaomi Unveils Mi TV 4 With Unique Features

You can swap out internal components and upgrade the TV as per your wish.

Chinese technology company Xiaomi has recently unveiled the latest Mi TV 4 at its CES 2017 event in Las Vegas. At the event, Xiaomi’s Global VP, Hugo Barra also claimed that the television set is the thinnest model the company has ever made until now.

The Mi TV 4 sports a frameless design and measures just 4.9 mm at its thinnest point. Interestingly, the company claims that the new TV set is almost 37 per cent thinner than the Mi Mix smartphone that was recently launched.

Technically, the new Mi TV 4 sports Dolby Atmos audio technology with Mi TV Bar bundled in the package. The sound bar has 10 speakers, 2 wireless rear satellite speakers, and a sub woofer, thereby giving users a complete cinematic experience.

Having said this, one more very interesting fact about this Mi TV 4 is that, it is modular in nature. In the sense, you can easily pull out its motherboard and other internal components and upgrade the TV according to your wish.

The company also announced that the Mi TV 4 would be coming out to the public in 3 variants with different sizes: 49, 55, and 65 inch.

Additionally, Xiaomi Mi TV 4 also comes with PatchWall, which is Xiaomi’s artificial intelligence based recommendations UI. It is being said that PatchWall would be making content recommendations based on large amount of metadata about movies and TV shows.

Apparently, there has been no announcement regarding the television’s price tag yet, though Hugo Barra, during the unveiling promised that users can get it under $ 2,000. This means that the Mi TV 4, if introduced in India, would be priced anywhere under Rs 1,35,000.
