Apple May Dump iPhone 8 And Launch The ’S’ Variants Instead

Before iPhone 7 and 7 Plus were launched, the company had brought iPhone 6s and 6s Plus into the market, and the same strategy may be followed in 2017 as well.

Apple fans have been waiting for an iPhone 8 that is rumoured a number of times over the past few months. However, it looks like Apple might completely give a sudden shock by simply rolling out the ’S’ variants of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 2017.

If you see the company’s routine, they have been launching ’S’ variants, but this time, we haven’t seen one yet. We just saw the launch of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but not iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus yet.

However, rumours until now hinted at ’S’ variants being skipped from the production line, while the company introduces an overall completely new ‘iPhone 8’ with a couple of super-cool features. But that may not be the case once again.

A recent publication on BGR states that a Weibo user posted a few details about alleged supply chain documents, and accordingly, we can be understood that Apple will be launching three models in 2017 - codenamed as D20, D21, and D22. These codenames could be the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and a top-tier model of iPhone. Well, this top-tier model may be the much rumoured variant, codenamed as ‘Ferrari’ and also if the previous leaks really happen to be true, we may witness this model with a borderless OLED display.

Also, considering the company’s product life cycle until now, we saw iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus before Apple launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This may again wash off the hopes on a super-advanced iPhone 8 that has been rumoured.
