Xiaomi Launches Mi VR Play Headset For INR 999

The new headset comes with Lycra material and supports Google Cardboard Camera app.

Xiaomi recently unveiled its new VR headset dubbed as the Mi VR Play in India. While the VR headset was initially unveiled in China in August this year, it is said to be available for purchase in India, starting Dec 21.

For a price of INR 999, the new VR headset can be purchased online at the company’s official store. Along with this, limited edition Mi VR Play headsets are also expected to go on sale.

Xiaomi Mi VR Play comes with a new ‘two-way zipper design’ which is claimed to make the process of inserting the smartphone into the headset and removing it pretty easy. Also, the company claims that the new design will ensure that the smartphone will not fall out of the headset.

However, to refresh your minds, the Chinese company also launched another VR headset recently, in October.

Coming back to the Mi VR Play headset, it is said to be compatible with Google Cardboard and allows users to enjoy 360 degree YouTube videos. This means that, users can use the headset with Google Cardboard Camera app. This allows to click VR photos as well.

While the headset sports Lycra material, it is compatible with smartphones ranging from 4.7 inches to 5.7 inches in size. Also, the new app called Mi Live has been announced by the Chinese company that allows users to stream a live video that is VR enabled.
