Google Duo Gets Drastic Improvements With Update v5.0

The new update is said to improve video quality drastically, while it simplifies signup process, and fixes sound issues.

Google’s much talked-about video calling app Duo that was launched in August this year has seen more than 10 million downloads from Google Play Store thus far. However, the app has not been able to get the kind of attraction it expected.

Now, Google has finally announced the rollout of a new update to the video-calling app, which is expected to improve the overall video quality, and thus attract more users on the run.

The announcement came from Google Duo’s Technical Lead Justin Uberti who tweeted recently that the Google Duo v5.0 update has begun to roll out and with the update, users will be able to witness major improvements to the video quality.

In another tweet Justin said, “We're putting massive energy behind Duo media quality. Developing and improving algorithms takes time, but lots of stuff in the pipeline.”

Along with this, the new update is also expected to bring in a simpler signup process and improved camera rotation. The update has also fixed sound issues that existed earlier.

Having said this, the new update is already available for download from the App Store, and will soon be available on Google Play Store.
