Apple May Be Working On A 10.5 Inch iPad

A couple of sources including Taiwan-based supply chain makers seem to have confirmed the possibility of this variant of iPad in 2017.

Do you remember rumours that came out back in August about a possible 10.5 inch iPad in 2017? Well, we have a few updates on the speculations. It looks like a couple of Taiwan-based supply chain makers have recently confirmed the possibility of this device, reports GSMArena.

Interestingly, the new 10.5 inch iPad's production is also said to be set to start this December, which hints us at an unveiling that we may expect to happen during the first quarter of 2017.

According to GSMArena, it is also being said that, the new 10.5 inch iPad is most likely to be powered by the new Apple A10X chipset. To give a better understanding, it is the same chipset that we expect Apple to feature in its upcoming 12.9 inch iPad Pro.

So, a question may raise in your minds that why would the company ever want to come up with 10.5 inch when they already have a 9.7 inch and 12.9 inch variants. Well, it is being said that, in the US, the 9.7 inch is considered too small, while the 12.9 inch is considered as pretty big to hold. Thus, the decision by the iPad maker!

Along with this, DigiTimes has also reported that a couple of sources have claimed that the shipments of 10.5 inch iPad is expected to reach 2 million units in first quarter in 2017. However, we may have to wait until we actually hear about this from the company itself.
