Xiaomi Launches Mi WiFi Speaker In China

The new speaker require Internet to actually search and play the song, while users can also download and save them in the internal storage of 8 GB.

Chinese technology company Xiaomi has recently launched a new wireless speaker dubbed as the Mi WiFi Speaker, which is also known to be christened as Mi Internet Speaker, thus hinting at its main functionality - allowing users to play songs directly from the Internet.

The speaker has been listed on the company website at a price tag of CNY399 which is roughly around INR 4,000, and is said to be sold in China, starting from Friday, Nov 25.

The Mi WiFi Speaker comes with a 4-speaker layout with 2 sub woofers of around 2.5 inch size to provide extra bass that's needed to make the sound output more live. Inside the speaker, we get an Amlogc 8726M3 Cortex A9 processor with WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth v4.1 connectivity.

However, if you do not have Internet and want to use this speaker to listen to your favorite song that has already been downloaded, do not worry as this Mi WiFi speaker also comes with an 8 GB of internal storage. We also get USB 2.0 port and 3.5 mm audio jack in the newly launched wireless speaker.

Additionally, the company claims that the Mi WiFi speaker is capable of searching your favorite song from over 20 million tracks and 1,500 radio station in China. This comes with a possible partnership that the company might have signed with a couple of music streaming services in the country, and this means that the speaker will be currently available only in the company's mother land. And, if you are from India or any other country, we will have to wait until the company partners with local music streaming service to actually launch the speaker.

However, speaking about the Mi WiFi Speaker, users can control it via voice commands and Mi Home App as well. The frequency range is of 60-25 KHz.
