Instagram Gets New Interesting Features

Users can now add URL links, tag friends and stitch photos together into a mini GIF-type video.

Facebook owned Instagram has recently rolled out a couple of new features to its much popular ‘Stories’, that the company launched after getting inspired by Snapchat.

The new update allows users to add URL links, while they can tag their friends in a story and also add in Boomerang directly into the story without having to create separately using a Boomerang app. Well, if you had no clue of what Boomerang is, it is a short video clip that loops back - pretty much like a Vine.

This feature can be activated by swiping from your feed to open stories camera and by selecting a new format picker under the record button over there. So, select the mode ‘Boomerang’ over here, and your smartphone camera can now record photos and stitch them all together into a small video that can be looped. This works pretty much like a GIF video. You can later share it to your stories.

Adding further on these newly released features, Mentions allows users to tag other usernames within a Story, pretty much like how you would do in a normal Instagram post. Also, the update adds in ‘See More’ links in few stories, which basically is a feature that allows verified accounts to add URL links that can help users to visit the web page in a single click.
