Meizu Unveils The M5 Smartphone With A Polycarbonate Unibody Design The budget pone features an HD screen and fingerprint sensor. Chinese manufacturer Meizu has unveiled the M5 smartphone in its home country. Deviating from its metal-clad designs, Meizu's new handset boasts of a polycarbonate unibody. It comes in refreshing colours too.



The phone features a 5.2-inch HD screen. It is powered by an Mediatek's MT6750 chip. The phone is available in 2 GB and 3 GB variants with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage respectively. Along with the connectivity essentials such as the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, the phone boasts of 4G LTE support. It features a hybrid slot, which can either be used for a secondary SIM or a microSD card. In the photography department, you get a 13-megapixel camera. Then, there's a 5-megapixel snapper for selfies. The company claims that the phone's 3070 mAh battery offer up to 66 hours of music playback.



The Meizu M5 runs Yun OS 5.1 with FlyMe 5.5 UI on top. Like most smartphones these days, it features a fingerprint sensor. The 2 GB variant costs 699 yuan (approx Rs 7000) in China. For 3 GB version with 32 GB internal storage, you will have to part with 899 yuan, which roughly translates to Rs 9000. The Meizu hits the stores in China by November. AT this point though, there's no word on its global rollout.
