Google Announces Chromecast Ultra; Can Stream In 4K Resolution

The new Chromecast Ultra comes in at almost double the price of the earlier Chromecast by Google.

Google has announced a 4K variant of the Chromecast device at the recently held Google Pixel event, in San Francisco. So, with this all new 'Chromecast Ultra', users can stream 4K content from YouTube, Netflix and other VOD services. Along with this, the 4K variant supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision formats, giving users an enhanced streaming experience.

Also, the Google Chromecast Ultra is supposedly the fastest Chromecast streaming device by the company, according to the announcements, and streamed videos can load up 1.8 times faster than what standard Chromecast users have been experiencing. The company has even announced that users without 4K TV can also experience fast streaming through this new device.

While the design is pretty similar to what we have seen until now, we do come across the Google logo instead of the Chrome badge, along with a small attached  HDMI cord to hide the Chromecast behind the TV. However, price seems to be a high concern for users to purchase the new Chromecast Ultra, as it is coming at USD 69 in the USA, which is almost double the price of the earlier model.

Speaking about the availability, users should be able to experience the 4K streaming via the Chromecast Ultra from November, this year, in around 15 countries including the US.
