Will Apple Launch An ‘All Glass’ iPhone?

In a bid to revamp its design, Apple is rumoured to roll out an all glass iPhone by the end of next year.

With Apple sales dipping worldwide and the launch its iPhone 7 due this september, fresh reports suggest that fans could soon expect an all glass iPhone. Japanese website Nikkei has reported that Foxconn Technology Group is developing a glass casing for Apple as the part of the smartphone redesign.

The revamped design, as per reports, is set to be unveiled only next year and Apple is determined to boost its dipping sales and fight off competition from rivals like Samsung and Huawei. Foxconn Technology has reportedly been working on the all glass feature since last year.

Reports also suggest that the forthcoming iPhones would incorporate the new glass casings with metal frames and OLED panels similar to that of Samsung’s premium smartphone devices. The forthcoming iPhones expected to be released next year is said to feature a compact and sleeker design minus the metal body and  LTPS panels as seen in current models of the smartphone.
Most users have dropped their iPhones at some point that lead to the shattered screens and it would be interesting to know how well the new rumoured designed would be received by users.

According to a report published by Strategy Analytics, Apple’s marketshare in India dropped by 35 per cent and Apple shipped 800,000 smartphones in India in the second quarter of  2016, as against the 1.2 million smartphones shipped during the same quarter the previous year. Apple has been keen to strengthen its reach in the Indian market which is one of the largest and saturated markets in the world.
