HP Spectre Stepping Into Indian Shores On June 21

The HP Spectre, at 10.4mm, is the world's thinnest laptop.

HP announced a few months ago that it was going to take Apple head-on, and followed up with a laptop slimmer and more powerful than some of the other offerings from Dell, Apple and other brands. HP named the device the Spectre.

Measuring only 10.4 mm at its thickest point, it is currently the world's thinnest laptop, and now it's coming to India very soon.

HP Spectre comes with a full HD 13.3 inch screen. The base model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. HP has managed to create a new heat pipe that pushes heat away from the processor and added two more fans at the back to vent out the heat.

Unlike other thin lightweight laptops, HP Spectre can be configured with Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processor options.

HP Spectre is mostly made out of aluminium but the bottom features carbon-fibre. HP has gone for piston hinge at the edge of the laptop, which folds flat to look like a hinge less design. The laptop supports three USB Type-C ports.

The base model of HP Spectre 13 costs $1169 (Rs 78,282 approx) in US. We will, however have to wait and see how it is priced in India.

For years, Apple’s Macbook Air was called benchmark for thin laptops. Macbook Air measures 17.2mm at its thickest point while the 12-inch Macbook comes in at 13.2mm. But, with Spectre, HP is set to change the stereotype.
