3D printing is definitely gaining full attention.. and we all know it. In fact, the new technology is catching up in various weird instances.

Here is one such incident. A recent report by Engadget mentions that, a cancer patient by name Shirley Anderson has received a 3D printed jaw after undergoing radiation treatment for his tongue cancer.

According to the same report, the digitally printed jaw is very much light and also more natural looking than those prepared using traditional clay. Patients can only wear the clay variants for few hours as they are heavy and unwieldy, adds the report.

It is said that Anderson is now able to wear the 3D printed jaw even in public without any discomfort.

Taking this a step further, 3D printed prosthetics have been already received by 5 - 6 other patients including a man who lost his ear in an industrial accident.

While technology is creating a number of new inventions, as they say.. 'give it back to the society'; they sure are giving a new ray of hope for patients.. in-fact, the whole medical world.
