After successfully trying its hands at the principles of deep-space gravity with Angry Birds Space, Rovio seems to be pushing its new-found love for science as it gears up to launch a new game called called Amazing Alex on 12th July. The gameplay is based on simple concepts of physics, and the launch video looks interesting. It has to be said though, that the concept is a direct lift from the amazing old DOS game, The Incredible Machine.

Similar physics-based games, such as Cut The Rope and X Construction, have been quite popular, and with this new title the Finns will try and recreate the magic. Considering the phenomenal reception that Angry Birds Space received, it seems like the game maker can do no wrong. Even so, it is highly unlikely that Amazing Alex will achieve the same levels of acceptance — after all, few things are cuter than a bunch of pissed-off, brightly coloured featherballs. Besides, this will actually require some application of brain power, something that most Angry Birds fans sorely lack.
