Muffs XT is the latest on-ear Bluetooth headphones by Portronics that features a minimalistic and an elegant look. The headphone is definitely a takeaway deal at a price of INR 1,999.
Muffs XT comes with 40mm drivers for producing great audio output... especially the bass where you can clearly feel the thump. It also features a built-in microphone and audio controls mounted on the right ear-pad giving you a complete control over music and phone calls.
Inside the package, the Portronics has included a micro USB cable to charge the headphone. However, the micro-USB charging cable's length is very short. We also get a user manual that explains how to set this headphone up, connect it with your smartphone or a laptop, and also about the music control buttons on the right ear pad.
Speaking about the build quality of the headphone, the company has done a fair job in giving a premium look along with leather ear-pads. More importantly, the headphone weighs in at just 135 grams. So, you shouldn't feel the heaviness on your head! Also, the controls are easily accessible when you are listening to your favourite music or answering a phone call.
As far as the bluetooth connectivity is concerned, the headphone uses Bluetooth 4.1 technology, which means it doesn't drain your smartphone's battery. I was also able to get a good quality audio output even when I was roughly around 7 - 8 meters away from the smartphone.
One thing I loved about the Muffs XT is its ear-pads. They are so comfortable and probably... I can wear it until the battery juices are out. But, this thing can play music continuously for over 12 hours. And.. when the battery dries.. all you have to do is plug it for 2 hours and it's ready for another 12 hour musical play!
But, I did observe one thing. Sometimes the Muffs XT got disconnected suddenly from my smartphone and I could hear audio being played on the phone itself. It was only after two or three rounds of connecting and disconnecting the Muffs XT from my phone that I got audio back on my headphones. However, this connection problem didn't bug me a lot because of the deep bass.
