After airtel's recent cuts in 3G rates, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have now followed suit by slashing rates for their 3rd generation mobile data plans by up to 70%. This will obviously bring high-speed mobile internet plans within the reach of the masses. 3G services were launched in India last year by several companies. Although these services allow substantially faster internet access on mobile handsets, adoption rates have been slower due to excessive tariff.
