Ericsson Signs 4 Year Agreement With Airtel To Roll Out 4G Services

Ericsson launched Ericsson Networks Software 16A featuring a new suite of LTE software upgrades targeting the indoor space.

 

Swedish telecom company Ericsson has announced on Wednesday that it will be rolling out 4G services for telecom services provider Airtel subscribers in Delhi and 7 other circles in the country.

This four year agreement which also marks the first LTE-FDD rollout by Ericsson in Delhi is also said to strength and expand the 3G WCDMA network across 8 telecom circles in India.

It is being said that Ericsson will be supplying and installing while managing services for WCDMA radio access networks.

Also, for the Delhi 4G contract, Ericsson will be providing multi standard radio equipments including macro and small cells.

In connection with this, Ericsson has also launched Ericsson Networks Software 16A which will be featuring a new suite of LTE software upgrades targeting the indoor space.

The company claims the new suite to feature advances in uplink and downlink performance - boosting network uplink speeds by up to 200 percent and downlink speeds by up to 30 percent.
