Instagram Fixes The Bug That Increased Follower Counts

Some users woke up over the weekend with hundreds and thousands of new followers which now seems to have been brought back to normal.

 

How would it be if you suddenly gain a few hundreds or thousands of new followers on Instagram soon after your recently uploaded snap? Crazy, isn't it?

Well, this is what that happened to many Instagram users recently when a bug caused some users' follower counts to increase.

The glitch started driving the Internet with many people tweeting about the sudden increase in the number of their followers.

However, while many users were feeling happy that they have become famous over night, some seemed to have been worried if their account was hacked.

It wasn't known to be a bug until Instagram recognised it over the weekend and started working to remove the same.

While the company is working on the bug, all the number of followers which were added by mistake are in the process of being removed.

The Instagram Help Center says, "We identified and fixed a bug causing incorrect follower counts to appear on some profiles. Any profiles that were affected should now be back to normal."
