Twitter's Periscope Finally Arrives On Android

The app is the Twitter's official take on Meerkat live video streaming app.

The popular micro-blogging site Twitter has finally launched its much awaited app known as the "Periscope" on the Android platform.

Speaking about what Periscope is all about, we can pretty easily sum up that it is a live streaming app by Twitter which allows anyone stream live video to their followers using their phone's camera.

Twitter's Kevin Weil said in a blog post that Periscope is the perfect complement to Twitter and according to the Google Play Store App Description, Periscope allows its users to broadcast live video to the world.

This actually means that, the app is likely to let go of your wildest dreams of becoming a journalist, if at all you had!

The app comes with features like comments and hearts which users can send in real time.

It is also worth noting that the same app was launched on the iOS platform nearly 3 months earlier. Yet, the Android app is said to have some better control of how we receive the notifications.

However, it looks like Periscope might give some stiff competition to the popular app for video broadcast via Twitter, the Meerkat and the launch of Periscope is suspected to cut off the Meerkat's access to the social network pretty soon.
