Samsung All Set To Launch Galaxy Xcover 3 Rugged Smartphone

The smartphone can withstand harsh conditions and also can survive being dipped in water for 30 minutes.

 

Samsung has silently come up with a new rugged smartphone dubbed as the Galaxy Xcover 3.

The rugged smartphone packs a 4.5-inch WVGA display and runs on a quad-core 1.2GHz processor.

The phone which is expected to be launched at around Rs.18,000 will be available to buy from April.

The star feature of this smartphone is that it can withstand the US MIL-STD810G requirements for surviving adverse temperature, humidity, rain and altitude conditions.

The Galaxy Xcover 3 is dust-proof, shock and water resistant with IP67 certification and the company claims that it can also survive being dipped in up to 1 metre water for up to 30 minutes with covers slightly closed.

Like many other rugged smartphones, the Galaxy Xcover 3 also comes with physical buttons for home, multi-tasking and back button.

The phone also has an Xcover key which turns on the flashlight while double tapping on it will bring open the camera app.

The Galaxy Xcover 3 is expected to run on Android 4.4 KitKat which will soon be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Rest, the phone comes with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory which can be further expanded.

It also has a 5MP rear camera which comes with underwater shooting mode and a 2MP front camera.

The handset is being backed by a 2200mAh battery.

The smartphone is surely a good option for those who work in harsh conditions and also looking out for some great features at the same time.
