Apple Offers To Replace Bent iPhones Under Warranty After Inspection

Seems that the company is looking to fix the issue that has taken the internet by storm

The issue of Apple's new iPhone 6 Plus losing its shape is all over the Internet, but reported cases have been few and far apart. The company has looked into the matter and for now looks to be willing to replace the bent devices, as long as there are no obvious signs of them being tampered with.

TheNextWeb reached out to an Apple support personnel to inquire of the company's stance on replacing the bent iPhone 6 Plus' under warranty. He said that it was completely up to the Genius that they speak to at the store, and that the device would have to pass a Visual Mechanical test.

The Apple staff added that if the devices were within the guidelines, the company will be able to cover it, if not, it would be a paid replacement. It pretty much means that Unbox Therapy is sorely out of luck, who in the name of “science” subjected an iPhone 6 Plus to the bend test.

However, if you are an iPhone 6 user and your device has lost it's shape under circumstances of regular use, seems that you might just be in luck. It's good to see that Apple is taking note of the situation, and is willing to help buyers who've genuinely been effected from what could be a potential manufacturing defect.
