Rumour: This Is What iOS 8 Looks Like

The screenshots were spotted on a Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo.

Another day, another Apple iPhone rumour. This time around it's not about the iPhone 6's design or features, but the operating system. A couple of screenshots of iOS 8 have popped up on a Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. The source of the image is quite shady, but the guys at 9to5mac.com claim to have verified the shots.

The icons in one of those images reveal some new apps including Healthbook, Preview, and textEdit. The website states that the last two apps won't be fully functional compared to their Mac versions. So basically, you'll be able to "view files using Preview and TextEdit files stored in iCloud by OS X." I'll be very disappointed if TextEdit doesn't let me "edit" text. Apple is yet to finalise the icons for these apps, which is why they look out of place.

Besides the new app icons, it’s difficult to differentiate between the iOS 8 and 7.1. But then, that’s quite believable since Apple wouldn’t want to make another drastic change to the UI after the iOS 7 design overhaul.

On a related note, don’t forget to check out the list of features you shouldn’t expect in the iPhone 6.
