Facebook Introduces Chat Heads In New iOS App Version

Brings functionality similar to Facebook Home for Android, to iDevices.

Facebook has updated its iOS app version to 6.0, bringing in new a feature known as Chat Heads. This particular feature is similar to the one found in the recently launched Facebook Home for Android devices. Chat Heads are round floating icons representing messages from friends, appearing on the device's screen. You can simply tap these Chat Heads to reply to the message, or you can drag them around or pull them down to close them without replying. The advantage here is that you can do this even while doing other stuff on FB.

Yet another new feature is Stickers, which are actually special smileys or emoticons that were as yet unavailable. The difference between Stickers and normal smileys is that the former are larger and are placed besides the message to which they are stuck, rather than within the text itself. Also, FB seems to have planned to milk its users by offering some stickers for free, while making it necessary to purchase the rest from the Sticker Store if the user has got addicted. In addition to the above the UI has been revamped to include a News Feed layout. You can head over here to download the latest version of the Facebook app, although FB says that the Chat Heads and Stickers functionality will be rolled out over the next few weeks.
