Hide Display Pic and Last Seen on Whatsapp From Certain Contacts

WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature to allow users to hide both their profile picture and last seen from select users in the contact list.

WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature to allow users to hide both their profile picture and last seen from select users in the contact list. The feature has been tested on certain iOS users and it’ll soon be tested on Android as well.

“WhatsApp is planning to add a new “My contact except…” option for Last Seen, Profile Picture, About, so you can finally exclude a contact to view specific data without setting it to Nobody”, says a report by WaBetaInfo. So if you’re uncomfortable with certain contacts seeing your profile picture you can now hide it from them.

Once this new privacy setting is officially rolled out, a new option ‘My contacts except’ will be added to Last Seen settings. Currently, users can opt from three privacy settings for Last Seen, About and Profile Photo. Three Options: Everyone, Nobody, and My Contacts.

Please note that if you hide your last seen, profile picture and about from certain contacts, you will also lose access to view other’s last seen, profile picture and about. This privacy setting is still under development and is only being tested by beta users, it’ll be introduced in a future update.
