Amazon has seen success in India not only for its e-commerce website, but also for its other range of services and products like ‘Prime Video’ and ‘Fire TV’ dongle. Now, it seems like the company is all set to bring in its popular home speaker ‘Echo’ into the Indian market.

While it has always been tipped that the Amazon Echo would be launched in India by the end of 2017, a recent report published by Android Central claims that the device will be launched sometime in the month of October in the country; during the festive season of Diwali.

The post further mentions that the Amazon Echo would be priced around Rs 11,000 and Rs 12,000 in India, which clearly reflects the US pricing of $179 (Approx. Rs 11,500). On the other hand, it is also being suggested that Amazon would be selling its ‘Echo Dot’ for around Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000, which seems to be slightly expensive that the US pricing.

Adding further, it is also being reported that the Amazon Echo home speakers’ voice based assistant ‘Alexa’ in India would be supporting local languages like Hindi and Tamil. Amazon seems to be also working on adding support for more regional languages in the country.
