Facebook Rolling Out Mention Alerts And Reaction Feature

Tap and hold a message, and you can select from any of those available reactions.

Facebook has finally rolled out a couple of new features to its Messenger application, which in-fact helps in solving confusion in Group chats.

A new update being rolled out by Facebook globally brings the ‘mention’ feature which users can use to actually tag a particular friend in the group to whom your message actually conveys.

According to a recent post on TechCrunch, you have just type @ and then enter person’s name, and the name will immediately be highlighted. The tagged person will be getting an alert.

On the other hand, Facebook is also introducing its News Feed Reactions to Messenger that actually allows you to reply for a particular message by simply attaching an emoji. By doing this, you can pretty easily express agreement, disagreements or an emotion about a particular message, claims TechCrunch.

So, it is said that you will have to tap and hold on a message to actually pull up the Reactions menu and select one emoji from there, instantly. Having said that, ‘Reactions’ also work in one-on-one chats.
