Xiaomi Redmi 4 Smartphone May Be Launched On Monday In India

The device will be exclusively available for purchase on e-commerce portal Amazon.

Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it would be launching a Redmi smartphone at an event held on Monday, which will be sold exclusively on Amazon. The company has also started sending out media invites for the same event, and now both Amazon and Xiaomi have confirmed the launch via a tweet using the hashtag #TimeToGetSmarter.

However, many reports have been claiming that the device expected to be launched on Monday would most likely be the Redmi 4A, which was originally launched alongside with Xiaomi Redmi 4 in China, back in November, last year. If you have been following Xiaomi and Amazon social media handles, you would be aware by now, how both companies are emphasising on 4 and A symbols repeatedly.

To recall, the Redmi 4 features a 5 inch HD display, octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 2 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front camera, 16 GB ROM, and 4,100 mAh battery. On the other hand, the Redmi 4A comes with a 5 inch HD display, 1.4 GHz quad core Snapdragon 425 processor, 2 GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front facing camera, 16 GB internal storage, and a 3,120 mAh battery.

Also, if you can remember, both Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A were accompanied by Redmi 4 Prime during the launch event in China. Later on, the company even announced the Redmi 4X as a follow up smartphone in the Redmi 4 series of smartphones. On the technical side, while Redmi 4 Prime comes with a 2 GHz octa core Snapdragon 625 processor, 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM, the Redmi 4X was launched in two variants: 2 GB RAM / 16 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM / 32 GB ROM.

While we are still clueless whether the company would be launching all the Redmi 4 devices, or only a few or even one of them, we may have to wait and watch until the curtains are raised on Monday.
