The 2017 variant of the two year old smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Chinese smartphone company Huawei has recently launched a new variant of its two year old smartphone the Huawei P8 Lite.

The 2017 model of P8 Lite is said to be available for purchase for a price of around Rs 17,000, though the device may be first seen only in the European market, by the end of this month, claims a report published on The Indian Express. This means, the smartphone would be sold for 239 Euros over there.

While the new variant runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, it is not just the operating system that has been pumped up. We can also see a couple of improvements under the hood and in the display section as well.

The P8 Lite (2017) comes with a 5.2 inch FHD IPS display while a glass back with metallic frame concludes the body design part. We can also see a 2.5D curved glass design.

Under the hood, we can see an octa core Kirin 655 A53 processor powering the device up while 3 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM come in handy.

On the camera end, the smartphone comes with a 12 MP rear camera and 8 MP front facing camera, while a 3,000 mAh battery backs the entire device.
