CES 2017: Casio Unveils WSD-F20 Rugged Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatch

The smartwatch is claimed as the world’s first to run on Android Wear 2.0.

 

Casio has unveiled its rugged smartwatch dubbed as Casio WSD-F20 at CES 2017 on Wednesday. While release date has been announced as April 21 this year, this rugged smartwatch is claimed by the company as the world’s first smartwatch to run on Android Wear 2.0 operating system. The smartwatch’s price tags start from $500, which is roughly around Rs 34,000.

Speaking about the build quality, the Casio WSD-F20 smartwatch is designed for use in rough environments, as it is being launched as part of the company’s Pro Trek lineup. Additionally, the smartwatch comes with buttons of different sizes, which actually enables users to operate without even looking at the watch.

The smartwatch comes with a 1.32 inch color TFT LCD display with a resolution of 320x300 pixels. The smartwatch also comes with different watch face designs and another feature known as Moment Spotter. This lights up the display after certain triggers.

Along with this, the Casio WSD-F20 smartwatch also sports a pressure sensor, compass, accelerometer, gyrometer, along with a battery that is said to last for a day under normal usage. The smartwatch is also water resistant for up to 50 metres, and is compatible with Android smartphones with Android 4.3 or later and iOS 9 and above.
