Xiaomi Launches A Galaxy Note 7 "Replacement"

The Mi Note 2 looks a lot like the Korean brand's ill-fated "phablet".

 

At an event in Beijing, Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Note 2. Much like the premium Samsung Galaxy Note, Xiaomi's phone features a screen that curves on its sides. The frame is made of aluminium. The Mi Note 2 features a 5.7-inch OLED screen. It is no surprise that the Mi Note 2 is planning to attract the disgruntled Samsung users owing to the Note 7 battery debacle.



The Mi Note 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 821 chipset. It has 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB \ 128 GB internal storage. In the photography department, you get a 22-megapixel camera. It is equipped with EIS (Electronic Image Stabilisation). It can record videos in 4K resolution. The front-facing 8-megapixel camera comes with Beautify 3.0 effect. As opposed to the fixed focus snappers on other phones, the Mi Note 2 boasts of an autofocus camera. The 4070 mAh battery supports Quick Charge 3.0. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. The 4G LTE handset supports over 37 bands over the world.



The Xiaomi Note 2 with 4 GB RAM is priced at 2799 yuan, which roughly translates to Rs 28,000. The 6 GB variant is pegged at 3299 yuan (approx Rs 32,500). The global variant with maximum LTE band compatibility will set you back for 3499 yuan (Rs 34,500).
