Facebook Allows Windows 10 Users To Make Video/Voice Calls Via App

The update asks users whether to use WiFi or Data plan for these calls, which is pretty weird, as Windows 10 PCs won’t have data plans.

Facebook has recently started rolling out a new update to its Windows 10 Messenger app that actually allows users to make voice and video calls without opening messenger.com or facebook.com websites. In-fact, to make it more clear, this feature is much similar to what users have already witness in Facebook apps for Android and iOS.

The new update for the Messenger app on Windows 10 comes with a phone icon on the top right corner, according to a report recently published by Venturebeat. However, there seems to be a weird glitch in the app, as users are being asked whether to use WiFi or Data plan while making a call. This is definitely an odd message because Windows 10 computers would not be having any data plan.

However, this is definitely a big update to the Windows 10 app that was pretty much stagnant in a while. Now, users are not required to switch to a browser and open a new tab to make a video call or a voice call.

According to the same report by Venturebeat, a Facebook spokesperson has already confirmed that the company has started rolling out the update for Windows 10.  It is worth noting that the Phone icon that we mentioned earlier starts glowing green when another person is currently active.
